About us
Northumbria Rail Limited was incorporated on the 6th November 2003, as a development of
The Northumbria Rail Group &
The Blyth & Tyne Diesel Group.
Northumbria Rail Limited is a rail support company, formed by a small number of
rail enthusiasts from Northumberland (see
staff) to help promote railway restoration schemes in North East England,
and to provide assistance and motive power solutions to private and heritage
railways.
As the company is run by enthusaists we are very pro-enthusiat, and will try to deal with any queriers the best we can.
Please note that at present the company is "dormant", and "non-trading", and all funds for
purchases and restoration work come from individuals out of their own pocket,
though the business will hopefully eventually become self sustaining.
As part of our business set-up a new mission statement is being developed, but
basically the aims of Northumbria Rail are; to promote rail travel within the
Northumbria area; to promote, bring together, & provide assistance to railway related
projects in the Northumbria area; and to help preserve & and protect railway equipment
of all gauges.
This web-site is intended as our corporate site giving details of the company
and its own operations. We have another website at
www.northumbria-rail-group.org.uk which has information on projects we
support.
